How to increase upload limit on wordpress and share .exe files easily:
Alot of posts explain the way to do this, some may work, some may be a waste of time. Uploading, storing and sharing an .exe file for example can be frusterating as well. Here is what is known to work on the latest version of wordpress Version 3.5.1 .
*To increase the upload capacity of wordpress, simply add:
php_value upload_max_filesize 20M
php_value post_max_size 20M
php_value max_execution_time 200
php_value max_input_time 200
*To your .htacess file
*Add the above code in between the:
<IfModule_mod_rewrite.c>
and
</IfModule> tags
*Of course the above code will have to be changed if you want to upload a differrent MB than 20. This is also of course if you webhost permits this sort of activity or if they permit .exe files to be downloaded or stored.
*To be successfull at uploading and sharing .exe files ( letting viewers download your file), you can install a plugin called WordPress Download Manager. Just install it, go to “upload new file” then go to “manage” then copy / paste your shortcode into your posts/pages. You will be met with a download button on that particular post/page initiating the download when you click on it.
